I was thinking for quite some time how to name them because… what I made was probably far away from the original palmeras ;P
Look more like hearts, don’t they? :)

I first saw them on Lady Laura’s blog whom I got to know thanks to my little blogging :) Dear Lady, if you happen to be reading it right now, warm hugs for you and big thank you for your support :) And do believe me, one day I’ll make real palmeras! Scout’s honour :)

As for now, my PseudoPalmeras. Cinnamonish, carelessly rolled and a bit overbaked ;) So what? They’re still delicious! :)
Check them out.
One of the best baking last minutes :)

Ingredients (yield around 20 palmeras):

  • 1 pack puff pastry
  • 1/3 cup baking sugar
  • 1 Tbs cinnamon

Leave puff pastry in a room temperature for a moment, rolling it is easier later on :)
Mix sugar with cinnamon.

Sprinkle the surface with sugar and place puff pastry on it.
Sprinkle it with cinnamon mixture and half the puff pastry from both sides (as if you were closing a book).
Sprinkle it again and half the halves :)
(You can also sprinkle it with cinnamon once and then roll the puff pastry from both sides to the centre… so that two rolls meet :))

We should get a looong roll at this point :)
Cut it into 1cm-1,5cm pieces.

Line the form with baking paper and put little palmeras on it placing them on their sides.

Bake at 200°C up to 15 minutes.
