Traditional Easter cake in Poland.
On my table too :)
Well-known marble pattern.
The cake is a bit heavier than the standard one. It’s because of chocolate as one of the ingredients.
Sad layer… it’s so typical of this type of a cake… Fortunately, not this time! :)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 225g butter (at room temperature)
- 1 cup baking sugar
- 4 big eggs
- few drops of vanilla flavour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 120g dark chocolate
Butter the form and flour it a bit.
Mix the butter with sugar until it’s combined.
Start adding eggs one by one, mixing after each adding.
(The mass started looking strange at some point… but happy ending it was ;P)
Add the flavour and mix.
Start adding flour and milk by turns.
Melt the chocolate.
Divide the mass into two.
Add melted chocolate to one of them and stir until combined.
Pour both masses into the form (by turns again) and stir it with a fork or a spoon.
Bake at 160°C for about 70-80 minutes.
