Pistachio Pralines

Sometimes before I decide to post something, I need to think it over and over and over again.
Here’s the story…

… these were supposed to be the most beautiful pralines I’ve ever made.
Well-formed, smooth… little perfections, so to speak :)
Obviously, everything went wrong… Standard situation, which in my case means manual failure!
Just the question is… so what?
So what they are not smooth and they look like little monsters if the taste compensates everything? The pistachio mass is so good that I had huge problems with refraining myself from eating everything straight from the bowl.
So what they don’t look like role models if they disappeared the moment they appeared!
Gosh, it’s such a pleasure to see someone who is not so fond of pistachios at all, who says it can’t be good, who tells you “don’t do it, it’s a waste of time”… to see this person sneaking up to the fridge just to eat one more praline! :)
Amazing.

So… It seems you’re reading a post which wasn’t meant to be here :)
Taste is what counts and let it always be this way :)

PS I’d die for this pistachio mass. No joke!

Cheddar-Knot Rolls

Really spontaneous!
Following yeast cravings!
One of the nicest dough to work with! As pliable as it could be :)
Here with cheddar but it can be any other cheese you can think of… Next time I’ll add some mixed herbs too, just to make the rolls even more flavoursome… and maybe some chopped fried onion? :)
Later on in the evening it came to my mind that these rolls can go nicely with Polish borscht too (that’s a traditional beetroot soup, really really really yummy :))
So, this time, not a really sweet recipe :) But hey, it’s still about baking, isn’t it? :)
A Spicy Perspective was my inspiration. The Knots you can find there look so delicious that I’ll surely make the bacon version too!

Oh my, oh my. My fingers just got so itchy to bake :)
Something with yeast, yes yes.
I got a bit jealous, too :) Girls from other blogs were making buns, rolls, bread, croissants… Gosh, and what about me? :)
Straight to the kitchen, quick kneading, quick crumble making… and finally this beautiful smell of a yeast cake all around… To tell you, it’s something that can’t be described… For me, it’s just the smell of cosiness, home and love.
Kocham.

Sunflower Cake

Another gut bomb! So so many calories!
It’s possible that I’m chosing this kind of cakes in particular for one good reason – I’m really trying to put on weight a bit… Where are my lost kilograms? Need to find them :) So maybe… it’s about some subconcious choices? No idea ;)

The cake itself is like a big wow! Especially this sunflower cream… Mhmm… Let them say it’s like 8000 calories… The taste makes up for everything! Even these silly calories seem more friendly ;)
To tell you, after making Cuckoo Cake, I was sure it would be double difficult to find a cake that would be equally good… Seems I was lucky :)
Of course, that’s a different category of a yummy but both are highly addictive :)

So so, Sunflower Cake is quite sweet, yet not too sweet. Additionally, I would say you may feel quite full after eating one piece of it… All in all, this cake is a sweet crime :)

Not sure what your way of measuring deliciousness is but for me it was pure pleasure to see my mum having a bite, rolling her eyes and… mhmmmmmm-ing :)

And I almost forgot… To all my teacher friends, do not lose this passion that’s in you. Love your students and you’ll see how much they can offer in return :)
Warm hugs and have a nice celebration :)

It was supposed to be just an element of one of the recipes. Just an element…
It turned out it was so delicious and so addictive that it seriously deserved its own place on Sarenka :)

I’ll be coming back to this recipe every now and then while making other cakes, biscuits or desserts… of course if I manage to refrain myself from eating it straight from the oven! :)

Yummy!

Cuckoo Cake

There are cakes you just know you’ll bake… Like, you’re sure of it even before baking :)
The moment I saw this recipe, I already knew it would be on my must-bake list and, moreover, I knew it would be one of my favourites!
And to tell you, I was not wrong at all :)
It won’t be an exaggeration to place this cake among the most delicious ones on Sarenka!
(Of course there is still a lot to be added in the future, I hope) But for the time being, I will welcome Cuckoo Cake in my Top5… or even Top3 :)

Just to explain, the name of the cake comes from Polish sweets called Cuckoo Sweets. You can check on them here :)

The cream is sooo creamy, just the way it should. Especially when you try it straight from the fridge… If you add the taste of (a bit) drunk biscuits and my beloved brownies… Mhmm… Pure perfection for me :)

If you want the cream to be thicker, you’ll have to add a bit of gelatine to it.
I decided not to and… well, the cream got a bit slippy ;P But as you already know me, I would stand more for the taste than perfect look :)

So so so hurry up to the kitchen!
It’s really really worth making :)
