Long time and… finally, cheesecake :)
With some warming up ingredients, out of which cinnamon is the winner.
Peanuts match the cheesecake in a perfect way. Actually, I dare to say they stole people’s hearts more than the cake itself ;P

Well, this cheesecake:
is express to make.
looks pretty.
has a unique taste.
Why not to make it right now? :)

Long time not done.
I’ve made a really really delicious something recently. I hope to post it soon :) But in the meantime, because of this something, I had some whites to experiment with :)
I chose this meringue and… I have to tell you, it was SO SWEET! And to tell you something more, sometimes no sweet limit is a good decision :)

The best thing is that I’ve got some spare whites again… So what kind of meringue should I make next time? :)

Lebkuchen

Melt-in-the-mouth!

I’ve seen loads of positive opinions about these gingerbreads… therefore, I decided to make them too :)
At first, I was sure I failed. They were way too hard. Little stones, so to speak :) But then, two days passed and, miracle! Soft and yummy :)

You know, it’s quite late here now… I’m writing this recipe listening to our local radio. My room is so little and it’s all filled with light coming from my little Christmas tree… Little room, little Christmas tree. Really cosy :) Hot tea on my one side and… Lebkuchen on the other :) Peaceful.
I cannot stand frosting on cookies. I cannot imagine Lebkuchen without frosting. Illogical one may say… Christmas, I say :)

I may be saying that Christmas is not my favourite time of the year but then, here comes an evening like today and… I’m left with no words… With all this laziness, freezing temperatures, even with this frosting… it’s good :) It is good.

Banana Bread

POLISH VERSION

A lot of working recently. That’s good.
Less time for baking. That’s really bad.
That is why now I can really appreciate these moments when I can unwind spending my time in the kitchen, mixing, cutting, stirring… and of course, tasting!

Browsing through some baking websites, I found several cakes looking so interesting (taste-wise, obviously) that I had to spend some time thinking which one to choose… Well, after a long fight with me, myself and I, the decision was made – I’d make something else ;)
This something else is a cake. I mean, bread… I mean, a cake… Hmmm, that’s the thing – hard to say if that’s more like a cake or bread :) Let’s assume for a moment it’s bread. Well, that’s a sweet one, perfect for coffee. Now, one can say it’s definitely a cake. Really? Everyone who saw it said it was bread, bread for sure! :)
I chose to call it bread as… it’s my Sarenka and well, I can call it the way I want ;)
I’m not a big fan of banana baking therefore it came as a huge surprise that I liked it so much! My taste, absolutely. Banana Bread is quite heavy and wet in its texture. Yes, my taste :)
I found it on Asia’s blog and introduced tiny (really really tiny) alterations :)

Walnut Plait

POLISH VERSION
HTML tutorial

So here is the second one!
I’ll risk to say… it’s even more delicious than the first one ;)

As I mentioned before, I made it from the same dough I used in Cinnamon Plait, with slight changes when it comes to the filling. Apart from cinnamon and sugar, I also added ground walnuts and this composition turned out to be (as I call it) a baking bingo!
The thing that hasn’t changed is (one of the most delicious) crispy crust ever! I could eat all of it!

If you’re worried that walnuts can add this bitterness to the taste, leave your fears behind – it is just the way it should be, meaning perfect! :)
… And plaiting itself was sort of easier this time ;P
All in all, looking and tasting at its best :)

Cinnamon Plait

Made today, posted today!
Why? Oh my! Because it’s soooooo delicious!
As usual, I needed at least several weeks to get myself together and bake it :) I looked through dozens of blogs, checking on doughs’ recipes mostly and… to tell you, I was stunned with the pictures of the plaits I’d seen :) Simply beautiful :) Well, I ended up using the most reliable recipe ever, that is a recipe from Moje Wypieki :)
From the original recipe I decided to steal the idea for the dough only. And I’m telling you, it’s amazing! Yet, the proportions given made me make two smaller plaits instead of one big :) The second plait soon on Sarenka too :))
When it comes to the Cinnamon Plait, for me it could be all covered with this yummy crispy yummy cinnamon crust! Soooooooo good it is :D

And I’m terribly sorry for my chaotic writing today but a moment ago Kamil-the-ski-jumper won a gold medal in the Olympic Games!!! I’m still so excited!
Well, time for the plait :D

PseudoPalmeras

POLISH VERSION

I was thinking for quite some time how to name them because… what I made was probably far away from the original palmeras ;P
Look more like hearts, don’t they? :)

I first saw them on Lady Laura’s blog whom I got to know thanks to my little blogging :) Dear Lady, if you happen to be reading it right now, warm hugs for you and big thank you for your support :) And do believe me, one day I’ll make real palmeras! Scout’s honour :)

As for now, my PseudoPalmeras. Cinnamonish, carelessly rolled and a bit overbaked ;) So what? They’re still delicious! :)
Check them out.
One of the best baking last minutes :)
